Default Any predictions for automotive technology in the future?

Mine is this:

I predict within 10 years that drivetrain components such as the Torque Converter, Differential, and Drive Axles will be magnetically coupled. Slip will be dictated by duty cycle as it is now, and components will still be in fluid suspension, but the magnetic coupling will reduce friction to nearly zero, and prevent breaking of mechanically coupled parts while reducing the use of friction material significantly.

Take your best shot.

Im guessing Rack and Pinion steering to go mag first within the next few years. I mean "Magnasteer" is not too far away from actually using actual magnets for steering if it has that much adjustible play with it.

The feds will never allow steering or braking to go that route. It'* not fail-safe. Drivetrain components however won't cause an instant accident if they fail.

Drive by wire already exists.

Cars will be flying by the year 2016, they have to!

Though, I hope they improve those electrical and hybrid vehicles, most of them (except the Escape) are ugly as a ****

well the drive by wire is not for the Breaking or the steering...if the throttle sticks the car is able to be put into neutral or the car can be turned off to prevent accidents...if the streering or beaking fail..there will be problems

I thought Mercedes had a steer by wire, no?
