For starters you could come down to Central MN in April. Plenty of ideas to get you started there.

But the best things for starting are giving it a good tune up, with fresh plugs, wires, t-stat, pcv valve, o2 sensor if it needs one and a good high flow catalytic convertor would make an excellent first mod followed by a fender well intake.

If you can get an Actron 9115 scantool with an OBDII cable to fit it, you should be all set to scan your car for KR, or Knock Retard. Do a search for it on the forum, and you should see how important it is to watch out for that. I have a 94 SSEi, too, and it'* awesome! Once you get a scantool, you'll be able to get smaller pulleys and see how far you can go without getitng KR.

A few basic mods are a high flow catalytic converter with everything else behind it kept stock, a fender well intake, colder spark plugs, hotter ignition coils, a coolant flush with proper bleeding for no air bubbles, a 180 degree thermostat, and a couple other things you may find in here. Welcome to the forum, and happy modding!

when you say keep everything behind the cat kept stock do you mean the behind as in the headers or the mufflers?

Actually, I originally meant going back to the muffler, but it seems both the exhaust manifolds and the muffler are free flowing enough. Willwren has the quickest 92-95 Bonneville, and he still has stock exhaust manifolds because they flow so well. Plus, with the exhaust port offset on our cars, headers are really, really expensive.

Start with the first article here:

Consider that the first chapter of the mod bible for the Series 1, then browse the rest of Techinfo. When you have that down, come back and tell us what you want the car to do, and what your realistic budget is over the next year.
