Default New plugs and order shipped!!!

The ZZP pulley puller and oversized tensioner have been shipped! I ended up buying the puller and though I would "rent" it out to other members on here for like $10 plus shipping. Plus, I plan on starting to attend area meets and it will come in handy. I wish I could have gone to NEBF last weekend. Anyway, I went out to Autozone and bought NGK TR55 IX'* and will attempt to put them in, in the morning. The front three will be easy. I'm really not looking forward to the back three. I just might let my local garage do them instead. Now I'm just waiting for the shipping conformation from Intense on the MPS system.

You'll be able to handle them. Take off your strut tower brace (the square metal bar that runs across the width of the engine bay) to make it easier to access the rear plugs. You might struggle a bit your first time changing them, but it will get easier with practice. Make sure the engine is cooled off before you reach back there, because you'll probably burn your hand on an exhaust manifold if the motor is hot.

Don't worry.... you'll be able to do it.

no strut brace in 00+ except the GXP
the 00s are actually much more difficult than previous generations, because the firewall comes up and almost over the engine a bit, its a tight fit, but definately do-able

Take a peek at postings related to SC cars and the use of Copper plugs versus Iridium plugs.

Another word of caution:

Let the engine cool completely before attempting to remove any plugs. It would be costly to strip one of those ports that the plugs screw into. And dont forget the Anti-Seize and di-electric grease.

Andrew, may I humbly suggest you practice with the quote button a little more before posting?

And yes, you do not need to take your car to a shop for spark plugs. They are completely do-able by almost anybody with minimal technical experience, and you'll feel proud for changing them yourself. I used to be apprehensive about doing jobs like that, but after digging into my motor countless times I have become much more comfortable with small maintenance repairs. Force yourself to jump in and do it, and you'll be glad for the experience.
