If NY is anything like NJ (I'm an NJ inspector), CEL does not matter on 95 and older. It can be on and still pass. But you must make it through a 2500rpm test with the sniffer in the pipe.
96+ gets connected via OBDII up to 8500GVWR. And 96 to 00 can have up to 2 readiness monitors not ready. 01+ is allowed 1 readiness monitor not ready in order to pass. |
