Time for a new project. N/A is boring. My wife told me, either fix this one, or get a newer one.

Hmmm, I could spend less by fixing this one and still make her happy. Her daily driver is our 2000 Blazer. She use to drive my car until it "became possessed". Hence, the White Curse.

Anyway. Considering I will have some EXTRA funding in a month or so. I'm looking at turning this into a sleeper. Or the appropriate badge would be SLEePer.

I'm looking for ideas. Boosty and I have been talking a little bit behind the scenes and tossed the idea of either a top swap, or a complete L67 swap.

I like the idea of a complete swap, but the top swap intrigues me more.

Or, the last resort, find a damn good deal on a SSEi.

I'm looking for input from everyone.

Will you be doing an OBD II swap when you do either the top swap or the full swap? It would definitely make tuning a lot easier!

Yes, will be doing the PCM swap. Prefer from a 95.

95 isn't an OBDII though.

Upgrade that also. Hate to waste the time putting a different engine in, only to change the trans out 2 months later.

I'd lean towards swapping out a full drivetrain from an L67/4T65E-HD equipped car and doing a full OBDII conversion. A lot of people prefer the 98-up PCMs. The -65 isn't my first choice, but they are by far and away MUCH easier to find in good low mileage condition than a -60E HD ever would be. Of course while it's out you could take care of a lot of what ails the 65, such as the PCS and all other solenoids for cheap insurance.

That's my first thought. Obviously buying a car that's already supercharged would be a ton easier, but then you wouldn't have the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

If you can get your hands on a L67 and 4t65e-hd trans from a 97+ I say swap that in. Doing a top swap might come in a bit cheaper, but more work. Figure over $500 collecting the parts, and then spending a lot of time tuning.
