Update on my */C S1 rebuild
I've got so many old posts on this (depending on what issue I had) it aint even funny, but it looks like the time is growing closer to wake it back up from a commatose state
Here is what I have done since I started tearing it down:
HEADS
De-carbonized the heads, just a general clean-up...nothing special there.
Polished all the valves, then lapped in head...again, nothing special.
Updated valvetrain to 93+ roller pedestals.
New stem seals.
Aluminum V/C'* from an S2 F-Body. Yes, they fit.
BOTTOM END
New crankshaft, oil pump, lifters, knock sensor, all new gaskets everywhere. Rods spec'd out fine, so I left those alone.
MANIFOLDS
Intake got bead blasted then painted black, exhaust got soaked in full-strength Castrol SuperClean for a few days. Found MAJOR cracks on front manifold, so I trashed it and found a crack-free one in the boneyard, rear mani was fine. Painted the front high-temp black and will header-wrap everything when the Turkey Run comes to Daytona (can get it dirt cheap then). Oh yeah, took off the front heat shield too.
SUPERCHARGER
Was already rebuilt. Currently working on a custom intake system...I really don't want to go ricepipe because, well, that'* the EASY way. I've done away with the purge caninster, and if I go with a smaller washer bottle I should be able to come up with a really nice CAI system. But since this system is NOT required to get this thing running, it is not priority.
I've also done alot of little stuff, like soaking the injectors, replacing all those seals, painting this n'that. I'll have a few pics up later. [/b]

Dupli-color high heat flat black then cleared with same type. I think it will all look pretty mean once it'* all together. Besides, I had to make my Floz look good on there, and I think black does the trick.

header wrap keeps the heat in, yes. but it also transfers some of that heat back to the combustion chamber, raising temps and KR. i asked this same question because my pems were wrapped. i cut it off.
