Rocker Type Decisions
My next major modification, which will come late Spring, will be rockers. I priced things out with what is currently on the market, with the current prices. Things may change come spring, but here are two options I have in mind:
Option 1:
I-Win 1.9:1 Modifed Rocker Arms - 274.99
LS6 Medium Load Valvesprings - 65.88
CompCams Steel Valvespring Retainers - 39.99
Total = 380.86
Option 2:
INTENSE Gen3 1.9:1 Roller Rocker Arms - 349.99
LS6 Medium Load Valvesprings - 65.88
CompCams Steel Valvespring Retainers - 39.99
INTENSE Oil Restricted Pushrods - 96.99
Total = 552.85
There is over a 170 dollar difference of the two. Both options offer similar HP and torque gains, and both rocker brands have an excellent reputation according to their owners. I am leaning with Option 1 for a few reasons. They cost less, I can keep the stock pushrods, and I don't plan on revving my engine past 6000 RPM. If I was going to rev my engine over 6000 RPM, I would be going with Option 2, since the components are lighter and can handle the extra revs.
I would like to hear some input on this. The topic of rockers has been brought up many times on not only this forum, but on many others as well. However, I know exactly what I need by reading those other topics, and I just want input on deciding between my two options.

For reasons you've stated, i don't think the roller rockers are really worth it. The I-wins seems like a better deal to me.
Did you ever consider getting used rockers? you would save alot of $ if you can find them.

I actually almost bought some Gen3'* off someone for a steal, but I decided against it. I figure since I am dealing with some very critical components from inside the engine, I'm going to take the added insurance of brand new parts.

the first option does limit you alot. Especially because you will want a new PCM as your next mod probably, and the lightweight stuff will allow you to go up to 6000, so you get more when you spend more. Its your money, do whatever you want.

I don't kow what you mean by the first option limiting alot.
the springs will take care of valve float up to and past 6300k.
I'm shifting somewhere between 6400 and 6500k w/ LS6 springs, stock retainers/rockers and OR pushrods.

I'm going to keep the PCM how it is with the Intense Standard Unit. It shifts at 6000, which is right where I want it. I think with the rollers in conjunction with the O/R rods, my powerband would be stronger around 6000 RPM in comparison to the modified rockers, but were only talking a few horses, and just being able to rev a tad quicker. So I am really leaning on the first option, since I'll never see over 6k.
Any more input would be great.

Intense require their pushrods? I would do the roller rockers myself, as dgging into an engine like that, i want the best in there. Revving is something you say you don't care for, until you have it.
