What'* up all,
Been reading the site for a few months and finally registered. Lots of great info from every one. As my sig reads I have a stock 97 SSEi. It'* a daily driver so I'm looking to keep it extreamly reliable. Here are my thoughts, let me know what you think.?? Initial mods will be 180 tstat, colder plugs, possible cold air pipe(still thinking about extra heat for the open element AF), and a 3.4" pulley. Do you think there will be a problem with this pulley initally, KR?? I spoke with 3800perf, intense racing, and ZZ, and all say should be OK. ???? 2nd level MODS will be 1.9 RR, some basic exhaust work(down pipe) and PCM reprog. And latter maybe some TOGS(3.4 will probably always stay on).
And last, what'* with the 1.9RR? Has anyone ever had clearance problems with these? If not why would anyone buy 1.8'*? 3800 perf. sell these reworked 1.9'*, are they safe and reliable?? Thanks for any input you guys can give! Keep up the great work with this site. Rice was meant to be cooked!

It looks like you are well informed. You might see a blip of KR with your first stage of mods that are caused from an endless amount of factors. You should be fine for the most part. Just get your car scanned before and after the installs.

As for the 1.9'*, there is no clearance problems as long as you keep the stock cam. Most people go with either a bigger cam OR 1.9'*. The 1.9'* will give you a nice gain without the intensive work a cam requires. The ones on 3800perf are very reliable. I am actually planning on buying some this spring. The Intense rollers are also very good rockers, but cost a tad more, and are of a different design.

Good luck with your modding.
