Default GEN V LIM in getting ported

Not sure if this should be here or in Forced Induction -and I'm supposed to be a moderator.

Got the GEN V LIM from Ed Morad yesterday and dropped it off today at the the shop to have it ported. Going to pull the exhaust mani'* tomorrow and drop them off as well for the shop to make a tubular front manifold and port the rear mani -can't wait.

Anyhow, on the LIM, there is definitely room for a bit of porting.
The runners were obviously off center on the car it came off of. I have to hurry up and get the new motor so I can get the original heads off the 114k motor for the heads, LIM, and exhaust mani'* to be port matched.
Should be quite interesting.
I had been thinking I'd only be able to run a 3.4 on the street and maybe a 3.25" at the track with race gas, but if this porting works out like it should I hope to be able to run a 3.3" on the street and possibly a 3.1 at the track with race gas.

Also, are there any write-ups with pictures for porting the LIMs on L67/L32 cars?
The guy at the shop wants to make sure he doesn't ruin or under-port the LIM.

If you've got a link let me know.
TIA

You already know, I've done a bit of porting on L67 LIM'*, but the S1 is far worse than the S2 from the factory. You really need a set of heads to match to. The last thing you want to do is gasket match the LIM, only to have the ports in the heads be smaller.

Polishing the runners/outlets will help, but you simply have to know what the heads are before porting the LIM. Off to the wrecker with you and a precision ruler.

Does anybody else think he should be doing headers before a Gen V swap? PEM'* are great, but what are their flow capacity vs. headers? You'll be able to breathe in great, but getting the exhaust out might be your limiting factor. And I'm runnin' a 3.2 on pump gas with similar mods, minus the Gen V.

You have a very good point, Shadd. He'll never get the benefit from the GenV with PEM'*.

I will be running a full 3" exhaust, including 3" mandrel bends this time vs 3" crimp bent on the 95.
Hopefully the 3" with the PEM'* will allow a 3.1 or 3.2 on the GEN V.
I'll have to get ahold of Intense and talk to them about it. No doubt I'll be getting a few goodies from them to compliment the GEN V, I-WIN reworked 1.9 rockers like springs, retainers, OR rods, and advice for the head porting, etc.
It'll definitely be nice to have the original engine to pull parts from for R&D.

Setup from a puller standpoint..I'd say yes.

I think the V is more efficient and pulley size would be larger...??? Not positive.
