Is it possible to use a 4L60E
Im wondering, without money in mind, if it would be possible to get a 4L60E to mount up to a series 1 3800 SC so that a RWD conversion could be possible. Maybe use a rear end out of a camaro, or something with the same wheel base and a nice gear ratio...
If its possible, (im going to do alot of research into this) i'll be the first to do this! Need a good paying job first though.

This will NEVER work. Well, maybe the bolting of the tranny to the engine. But making a car with just a subframe RWD will NOT work. You would need a full frame. Our cars do not have the support or strenght for a RWD application. The subframe is fine for FWD, but beyond that you will run into trouble. Anyone remember that article on someone putting a Bonneville body on some RWD chassis? Well, they had to put it on that chassis, otherwise the car would just snap in half.

You need a chassis, however. I'm not saying you can't use the Bonneville body/[sub]frame. I am saying you will need extra bracing. The subframe will not suffice.

But ya, it would be one pain in the ***... U have to do a full lower tube chassis prob to support the wieght of the body as said above. OTherwise u make a taco sandwhich with yer car.. Trust me its not pretty, seen a guy do it with a vega... LOL
