Default Is it possible to use a 4L60E

Im wondering, without money in mind, if it would be possible to get a 4L60E to mount up to a series 1 3800 SC so that a RWD conversion could be possible. Maybe use a rear end out of a camaro, or something with the same wheel base and a nice gear ratio...

If its possible, (im going to do alot of research into this) i'll be the first to do this! Need a good paying job first though.

It CAN be done, but yea, you'll need money. There'* a lot to be done to make this transition.

Your motor will have to rotate 90° to make it work, and you'll need to see if you have room for the driveline.

This will NEVER work. Well, maybe the bolting of the tranny to the engine. But making a car with just a subframe RWD will NOT work. You would need a full frame. Our cars do not have the support or strenght for a RWD application. The subframe is fine for FWD, but beyond that you will run into trouble. Anyone remember that article on someone putting a Bonneville body on some RWD chassis? Well, they had to put it on that chassis, otherwise the car would just snap in half.

Yes, it will work. It'* being done as we speak with a V8. It requires custom work, but it is entirely possible.

You need a chassis, however. I'm not saying you can't use the Bonneville body/[sub]frame. I am saying you will need extra bracing. The subframe will not suffice.

Nothing a little tube, time and a welder couldnt fix
But ya, it would be one pain in the ***... U have to do a full lower tube chassis prob to support the wieght of the body as said above. OTherwise u make a taco sandwhich with yer car.. Trust me its not pretty, seen a guy do it with a vega... LOL
