O.R. pushrods VS Factory

What are the benefits and differences between factory and Oil restricted pushrods?

More pressure being pushed through them, therefore better oil distribution under the valve covers.

The rocker arm ends are 210 degree radiused and there is a specially metered oil hole. This oil metering works to keep the lifter 'pumped up', and allows the engine to operate at higher speeds with less chance of a failure. These are the best choice for customers with any sort of power adder and/or full roller rocker arms.

And raised shift points via PCM.

My new pushrods are restricted, but not to the extent of INTENSE's S2 rods. Mine were made custom for me by the same company that makes theirs.

Great I will probably pick up a set when I do rockers.

Talk to INTENSE about Lifters and Valve Springs when you do the rockers and pushrods. You'll probably want OE-R series lifters and stronger springs. It's really a whole package.

I've heard that the OE-R lifters tend to tick and new stockers were going to be my choice. What type of lifters are you going to be using Will?

CompCams OE non-R lifters. But my pushrods are slightly oil restricted. OE are supposed to be a performance upgrade to OEM lifters, more durable, more consistent with raised shift points.

Yes, the OE-R's have been giving a lot of the Series II guys problems, ticking noises and stuff like that. The stock lifters seem to work very well and are what most go with. I don't think I'd get the lifters if it were me, but if I were gonna get the OR pushrods definately compliment them with stronger valvesprings as well.

FWIW, I have stock lifters and pushrods on my GT with 90lb. valvesprings and I have spun it to 6800rpm on numerous occasions without any problems at all, doesn't seem to have any valve float, and makes very good power at those rpms as well.

My car has had 157,000 poorly mistreated miles from its previous owner. To be honest I was just planning on going with re-worked stock rockers and leaving the rest untouched including the springs but I might reconsider that. I hadn't planned on shifting past 6,000 anyway just due to the fact that the 4T60 transmission doesn't like going that high ( issues with the pump loosing effenciy after 6X00 rpms, the 4T65 trans doesn't have this issue ).
