Default New Motor.

I HOPEFULLY should have a new motor for my car soon....A WAY lower mileage unit, and since it will already be out of the car, I'm going to mod it before installation.

I'm thinking Rockers (1.72), Cam (Street/Strip), Springs, Hydralic Lifters. Mainly a few mods that are going to be PLENTY easier done with the engine out of the vehicle....Along with any parts or sensors that are getting replaced while the engine is out that is a PITA to change. Anyone have any suggestions for me? From the stuff I would like to do, how much of a HP and Tq gain could I expect to see? How much farther down in size could I go on a pulley?

Thats cool man good Luck with the motor . DrJay and willwren will chime in soon.
Why dont you get PEMs since the engine out of the car this would be a good time to do it.
Makes me wish I had the skills to pull out my engine. :(

No PEM'* for the S1, and it'* not needed. They were made right.

I'd do stuff like the cam sensor, etc.... Leave the rockers, do a cam now. Gains will be better per dollar.

Maybe get some new rings/gaskets?

Cam Sensor fell into the PITA category last I checked....

Should I look into a rebuild kit?

A * 1 out of a 94 SSEi with 85k.

Porting the TB'* not a bad idea....Do you think it would make a noticable benefit?
