Can you please put your year and trim level in your signature? We need to know what you own.

Nobody programs for a 180. It'll be fine. Most of us run them, and they run fine with stock PCM'*. You don't start getting into trouble with the PCM until you try to put in a 160°, and there are other methods of dealing with that other than reprogramming.

No damage, but your t-stat will open when the coolant reaches 180*, but the fan'* won't turn on until it hits 195*.

Ah, forgot about the signature, sorry. won't putting a 180 in and leaving the fans at 195 negate the new T stat?

The idea of the lower TStat is to change when it opens. Nothing really changes the operating temp of the engine. This just makes it take longer to get there.

You'll probably notice lower operating temps on the highway (due to airflow and the stat being open), but when you're stuck in rush hour, it'll still hit the same temps.

Unless you go to a thermostat with a larger opening, or drill bypass holes in it.

Sorry Doug....fans for 92-99 kick on at about 215 low speed and 226 high speed fans.

I believe the 00+'* to be the same.
