New Supercharged Engine and New Tranny!
 

I know its been asked before but I want all my questions answered in this one thread rather than just reading a whole bunch of others. Ok I have a 1993 Bonne SE and I want to throw in a *new supercharged series II or series I engine in it. I also want a new tranny, maybe the 4T65E or something like that so I can mod the engine like crazy and not worry about the tranny going out. Im being serious here people, this is what I want to do and will go far to get it done and done right. What will I need to make this dream come true? Tell me everything! I mostly want a Series II SC engine with the 4T65E but if I have to get the Series I then that will work as long as its the SC version. I want to buy everything in the engine compartment new anyways so if I have to get a new computer and whatnot then that wont be a problem as long as it can be done. Thank you!

Don't get me wrong, this sounds like a great project. And by all means go for it.

But

Why not start with a SSEi to begin with?

Save you a lot of time working on wiring, computers and fabin'
Saves a lot of money finding, buying and installing a L67
You should be able to pick up a 92-94 SSEi for the $2500 - 3,500 range and thats about what you would spend on the new engine and trans

Ok so I get a dead SSEi with a good body and throw in a new Series II and 4T65E tranny.

Nope, buy a good, nice ssei and start your mods from there. The 92 - 95's are cheap enough. I'm just saying buy an SSEi don't build one

you can get a 96+ ssei for under $6000...my parents picked up there beautiful 97 ssei fully loaded on the side of the road for $5700

BTW I just ran across an sweet 96 SSEi the other day at a dealership for 4,999. I didn't buy it because it was white and I'm looking for a black or red one.

Didn't want to shoot down you dream, I'm kinda looking to do the same thing. I'm just gonna start with a L67 so I don't have to go thru all that modin just to get to the point I could have started at to begin with. I just don't want to re-invent the wheel when I can buy one.

I'm finding 92 thru 94 series I for the $2k to 35 range and 95 - 96 for the 5k range. I would more than likely spend that to convert an SE or SSE to a L67 and do it right. Plus I'll get all of the goodies that come on a SSEi and I can choose my color.

Ya I think I'll look for a fully loaded SSEi with the Series II and then just go from there. Shouldnt be too hard and I figure $4-$6k can get me one in really good shape.
