So here is the deal, My buddy just bought a newer Mustang GT and I want to make sure I can womp on him when I get the chance. I'm looking to put on a smaller */C pulley but a little leary of where to get one and how easy it is to install myself.

I know that SCPerformance.com has one but I have heard alot of bad things about their customer service and delivery times. PulleyBoys was the other one but I haven't heard anything really about them.

Is this an install that I can do? It appears that the series 1 */C was a keyed pulley vs the series 2 which needs a speacial tool for installation.

What size is best? I am looking for the most power without getting to much KR. I was thinking either a 2.25 or a 2.4 but maybe one of you have tried these before and can give me some more insight into pulley sizes.

SCPerformance has the pulleys custom made to order by another company. I'll call them this morning and see how my order is coming, so you might not be so gun-shy. I read them the riot act awhile ago, so they should be better, especially with the Bonneville Club members. What size is your stock pulley? Measure to the belt surface, not the rims. I think yours is bigger than mine to begin with. I'd only go down one step from stock if I were you....for KR and heat prevention. I may go smaller later, but not right now.

I'm also making my own puller.....just to be safe. The steel is cut, I just need to weld, drill, and tap. If your pulley is a 2.5 like mine (2.75 to the rim), I can ship you my puller after I install my pulley. I'll give you the overall total OD that it will handle after I get it done.

I wouldn't be afraid to deal with Pulley Boys, just make sure they don't undersize you too much, and understand the application.
