Default Series II 3.8L V6 - Not very responsive

How to get my car going fast:
1. Floor it.
2. Wait a second or two.
3. Zoom!

Now, I've driven cars that didn't hesitate before taking off, and I assume that'* just a safety feature so that us with lead feet don't rear-end the car/SUV/fuel tanker in front of us. (Unless I'm mistaken.) I read the boost bypass mod. Is there a mod with similar effects for NA engines?

You may have 2.84 gearing. That engine should take off no matter what with 3.06 gearing. I t may also have torque manqgement. I have a 3800 Series 2 Supercharged V6 that offers insane acceleration from the stoplight.

you will most likely have the 2.84 gearing. great for the highway but crap for the acceleration.

and you cant do the Boost bypass......you dont have boost to begin with

Firstly, I may know very little about engines, but I'm not that dumb. Trust me, if I saw a car with a supercharger, I'd've asked for that one, and then I'd be on othercarclub.com or something like that.

The last owner treated this car like crap--it'* on its second starter, battery, battery cable and transmission and it hasn't even hit 80,000 yet, not to mention the first air filter I pulled out was completely black and clogged with leaves and a beehive, thanfully empty. Since then, I've been double-checking everything, including gear ratio. What'* the RPO code to check it?

A new cold(ish) air induction will really change the car'* feel. Also some engine cleaning treatments will go a long way as well. Things like seafoam, GM top engine cleaner, throttle cleaner, etc.

Uhhhhh. this IS a club with superchargers. Just ask: Merlin 91/97, Rougue, SSEi'MAtt93, ssesc93, PontiacDad, SSEiMatt, DriverJohn2005, BadSSEi, and myself about superchargers. We all got one. There is more i'm forgetting like SSEiMN, harofreek00, and dabeast99.

RPO'*...

FW2...3.06 ratio
F17...2.84 ratio
F83...3.05 ratio

the 3.05 probably doesnot apply to you because this was for 1998 and newer cars. Poor acceleration would probably be the 2.84 gearing. Not all of the column shift cars have the 2.84 however, Mine has the 3.05

lucky...mine with the 2.84 still can get up and go , espically since i opened up the exhuast a little. (I am not claiming that knocked a second off my 0-60 like most rice drivers would). If i ever get enough money, i would like to make a rice pipe also. I dont think my parents would let me get a pcm.

Very true, but in my (almost) twenty years, I've never seen an SSE or SSEi Bonneville. What I meant was I'd buy the first supercharged thing I could get my hands on, Bonnie or not. Hell, *transmission* or not, just so I could brag about my supercharger. ("It doesn't move, but if it did, I would SO own your ***!")

Anyway, I took a look at cold air induction. The Bonnie'* air intake is right behind the driver'* side headlight, so there'* not a lot of room to run dryer hose to the bumper (that was my first plan). I started thinking intercoolers, but then I noticed my wallet wasn't exploding with cash. (My friend'* ex put one on an SRT-4. Very nice looking.)

I started thinking about a K&N air filter, but if I decide on a custom intake instead, then I'd have just blown fifty bucks. I turned my stock paper filter around, though... not much, but better than leaving the black hole to filter the air. I'm thinking about taking off the front part of the airbox and just attaching the filter to the remaining half for an easy, simple and cheap air intake mod. Would that work?

I used to use fuel system cleaner a lot (like every other tank) when I first got the car, but now I use it once a month. Never tried anything you listed, though.
