Default engine swap

this has probably been brought up before....but say i found a series 2 (supercharged if possible) from a buick,chevy,pontiac that got totalled from a severe rear end acident, possible to swap the engine and tranny into my series 1 87 bonneville?

It'* possible but a few notes should be learned first.....the 87 doesn't have a Series I BTW, it has it'* forefather. The Series I was used from 92-95 only. Also, even though it will physically fit in the engine bay, all the electrical would have to be upgraded to a Series II capatable system like PCM instead of your ECM C3 computer; different trans to handle the torque; sensors, switches, etc too....

Also.... try to grab the tranny from the wrecked car as well... if it can be used.

You'll need to either A)swap out your tranny or B)beef up your tranny a lot, if you are going to drop an SC engine in it.

The series II PCMS control the tranny so he'd need the new tranny.
