Default 92 vs 93 L67 eprom

I posted before if anyone knew if a 93 L67 eprom would work in a 92.

Short answer: Nope. It'll turn over, feel like it is started, then die the moment I let go of the key. Nothing I could do would make it run.

Long answer: I suspect it has something to do with the crank sensor and harmonic balancer, having unique part numbers between the two years. Or, a pinout change. Can someone get me a scan of a pinout diagram of 93 L67 PCM wiring harnesses?

It won't run, so getting any codes is hopeless, I tried.

I'll shoot some pics of the pinouts and email them to you. Stand by.

Thanks for the pics, Bill.

After comparing them to my FSM, the only siginificant difference, is that the 92 PCM controls the heated windshield, the 93 has an empty pin there. There were a few minor voltage differences and wiring colors changed. The 93 does accept range 0% throttle TPS voltage range: .2-.74 compared to .33-.46 in 92.

Yes, the PCM is the same, the eprom is different.

The ECC controls the heated WS in the 93'*. The 92 has an adjustable TPS, the 93 doesn't, but I'd still suspect a difference for spark/fuel timing with regards to the crank pulley interruptor rings.

Feel like pulling your HB? Mine will be off this week for a comparison.

If you change your HB to a '93+ will a '93 eprom work?

We need to compare a 92 and a 93 HB. In the meantime, I'm pulling my bad 93 HB this weekend.

If it does indeed look different than a 92, I can send the clatter/bang unit to you for testing. It makes quite a bit of noise, but works.
