How to make my Bonneville SLE Faster!
Hi. I have a 1998 Bonneville SLE 3.8 liter. It is purely stock except for the K+N air filter I just bought. What SIMPLE plug and play things can I replace or add to make it faster? I am fairly handy and am not afraid to do some mild work, but I would like to start with the easy stuff. ( I just went through replacing the ac programmer vacuum line connections and all vacuum hoses under the hood to partially solve the ol' air conditioning issues)
Thanks in advance.
Todd

Start out with a FULL tune up, then take care of this, 95-03 Upper Intake Failure Information
After you take care of all that, check out www.Intense-racing.com

making my Bonneville faster
THanks for the tips. That post is a little scary about the faulty intake gaskets.
I just replaced the oil and oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, radiator, all vacuum hoses, and the door weatherstrips after I bought it a month ago.
I guess I will do the plugs, wires, pcv valve and thermostat (get a 180 deg.) to start. Is that good?
After that, what else can I do to modify it for some Horse power?

first mods are generally a FWI (fenderwell intake) and a PCM from intense-racing.com
these are not necessarily huge HP adders, but they will help some, and are necessary for future mods.

mods for speed
Not too bad for price either. The PCm was only $99 and the fender well intake was $169 for my car.
What about a chip and a new exhaust system first?

no one really does chips here, although i couldn't tell you exactly why. I don't think any of the fastest cars around here even have them.
For the exhaust you may want to consider a high-flow cat, and mufflers if you want to change the sound.. but you most likely won't outflow the stock exhaust system, so this will be more of a sound mod rather than performance.

95naSTA: Where does ZZP have products for older Bonnevilles? Looks like they just have stuff for Grand Prix, Grand Am, G6 and Cobolt/Ion?
