modified l27 manifold

hi guys, i popped up on here earlier this year chasing someone to send me a l27 manifold to australia, well, mr BillBoost37 came through for me and sent me one.

ive been slowly working on it here and there and thought id whack some pictures up for you guys to have a look at.

its still not running, but getting closer every day.

us aussies were lucky enough to get the v6 in a rwd configuration and as such, ive had to move a lot of things to turn the manifold 180deg. ive pissed off the small intake neck with the egr holes on it for a 72mm aluminium neck with a ls1 v8 throttlebody strapped to it.

enough chit chat, heres the goods and a pic of the machine it will go into

Wow! Sweet.... I love those rims... and that exhaust manifold in the second picture!

hakhawk Nov 4, 2006 05:27 AM

haha, yeh, the rims are quite nice.

that exhaust manifold, is off our second version of the vin c motor, cast shitful things to reduce noise. they crack way too easy.

lol, that motor in the background, i got today for nothing, has a blown headgasket.

then i gotta go pick up another v6 thats seized, from a mate for nothing again, next week.

Tell us what you did to get that LS1 TB on there. And tell me about those fuel logs.

So the Aussie's L27 is our L36 right? Because I see a composite UIM.

Only one year (1992) got a fully metal intake....93 and 94 got composite upper.

Hey, if you think you could use aluminum valve covers, I know of a few F-Bodies locally (the only rear drive cars we got with the 3.8 liter) that have them, though you will have to drill a new hole for your PCV system...once mediablasted, I think they would look really good on that motor

I'm so not used to seeing a 3800 sitting that way under the hood.

hakhawk Nov 4, 2006 04:18 PM

yeh, it is an l27 manifold, funnily enough, those rocker covers are aluminium, just painted. there have been a few guys getting them polished, and they look great. after about 2 years of running the first verion of the v6, the bastards at holden changed the covers to that crappy plastic style.

oh, and when i get home from work, i'll put those pics on a new server, seems its dead.
