Default 180 Thermo - Outer Gasket Seal

I'm having trouble finding the "Outer Gasket Seal" for the 180 thermo. The tool at AutoZone told me they don't carry it anymore and so did Autoparts Pro.

Is the 'Outer Seal' just regular Gasket material that I can cut to shape? Or is it like the inner rubber ring seal?

That'* weird that wouldn't carry it anymore, cause I believe that series II engines use the same one. The outer sounds like the regualr gasket material to me, the big flange looking seal.

Yup, tha'ts what I'm thinking too. Sometimes I think Autozone guys would confuse Water Pumps with Alternators :P .

The rubber seal is the inner, the fiber gasket is the outer. I got mine from the dealer. Go figure. There'* hundreds of thousands of these on the road. All the H bodies with 3800'*, and all the W bodies with the same use them.
