Gethering engine rebuilt ideas
OK.. I know my lil girl needs to have engine rebuilt soon.. due to the long history and problems I had a while ago.. I'm thinking in a year or so I"m going to rebuilt the engine from the ground up. New Piston, Connecting rod and pin. main bearings and crankshaft. The reason why I said I need a rebuilt is cause I've lost compression on 2 cylinders. 1 is I think 120 and the other is 140.. haven't checked lately.. that was right after I got it back.. will have to check again later on when Tamara'* dad can find his compression gauge.
So the question is.. who makes aftermarket internal parts for our engine? Rough figure of money cost?

I would make that bottom end bullet proof. if your really trying to so some serious mods and plan on keeping your car for a while, put most of your money in the bottom end. You can always do bolt ons later but not the other way around. (well, cheap) At least get some intense clevite bearings. Then i'd say try and get some diamond pistons. I've seen a few L67 pistons blown up b/c of thier ring location being so close to the top of the piston. If you can afford anything after the pistons, you should get the L32 connecting rods. This stuff is pretty expensive but you can do alot more to it without worrying about it failing on you.

Why not spring for a whole L32 assembly? with your TB, etc? Higher output, more efficient blower, quicker, and costs about the same as an L67 rebuild. Lots of GP guys are doing this...

So that would require new PCM/ECU and whole rewiring of dash instrument.. might be something I'd consider.. or go with a 4.6L Northstar hee hee if I"m goin to transplant my whole engine.. but then.. the problem is INSURANCE.. so maybe L32 might be the route to go..

With the L32 you will need to use your throttle body, the L32 uses electronic throttle IE no throttle cable. You should be able to strap the l67 harness onto the L32 and be able to run it like that. I will confirm this later, shouldnt be too difficult though.
