If you were to break your input shaft, it would be quite broken and not let you drive. This is what it looks like when you break your input shaft:

The comments about the video are that he was using a Chrysler 300M input shaft, but that'* incorrect. It'* a stock replacement made using much stronger metal.

Differential? My 99 SLO'* differential leaked for almost a year before the rest of the transmission gave out. Had the rest not died, I could have lived with a differential leak for quite a bit. Whatever ails your car, good luck!

One other thing you should consider is AWD. You just need a Pontiac Aztek transfer case from its 4T65E. The case bolts up in place of the differential, you put the differential on the transfer case, and use a shorter passenger-side axle.

Oh, the stuff I'd do for/with an AWD LS4 Bonneville...

So the transfer case doesn't stick down any further than the main transmission?

Hmmm, I could see a AWD Fiero with a built up L26 top swapped. Oh ya, that should move real good.
