Default Is the standard intense PCM my best bet?

Is the standard Intense PCM best suited for my car. I have the Flowmaster Exhaust, Custom Air Intake, and that'* it....would it be worth it?

Thanks
James

I thought it was worth it! Its a great feeling having the car run up to 6k rpms and shifting around the 60ish mph. It does a lot more stuff to. But if you plan on modding some more, then you might want to hold off.

WHen I got mine, I just sent my old one back in for the core refund. Absolutely no problems at all with the unit!

No, mine is a 97 as well, and no procedure was done to it. The only thing I kept from the original was the little chips that screws into the side of the PCM. (Forgot the officialy name of it) Took about 10 minutes total to install and remove.

Yeah, man, I totally agree with Twister. It has been a cool investment. And he'* right, there is no learn procedure involved. You just need to switch the KS module (the "chip" Twister mentioned) from the PCM that'* currently in the car to the new Intense unit BEFORE you install the Intense unit in the car. The KS (knock sensor) module contains the data about the position of the crankshaft, so the Intense PCM will need the module transplanted into it so it knows where your crank is. The Intense computer will come with a module in it already, but you need to switch your current module in anyway. I think you'll like the difference you hear and feel.

Be sure you have a 180 T-stat installed otherwise your fans will be on constantly as the standard PCM is set for 180 fan points.
