Gunna run a 3.4 MPS and wanna go cooler with the plugs and stat. Should I go with one or two heat ranges cooler for plugs? 180 or 160 stat? Whats the plus'* of each?

I would say a 180 t-stat, along with adjusted fan settings for the 180

180* is just fine, and even with that your going to need a PCM tune to turn on the fans. Being a 2000+ installing a 160* is going to trip SES lights

What about plugs -- thinking one range in fine, but planning on more upgrades and dont want to do it twice. Is two bad?

180 is good for the summer but if you drive the car in the winter you will probably switch back to a 195 for the winter.

I live in MN and run a 180* all year round. I have NGK V-Power TR-55 plugs, one heat range colder.
