I mention this because of sonoma_zr2'* heatsoaked sensor at WCBF. HIs was mounted at the TB. The velocity the air won't pick up latent heat from the tubing as it travels towards the TB.

i know this is getting off topic, but do you recall what kind of temp differences were occurring?

I was reading it with the AutoEnginuity.

Ambient around 75F, IAT 135F We were in stop and go city driving. Once we hit the open road and got a few miles down..temps only dropped 5-10 degrees. It took about 5-10 minutes for it to drop back to reasonable temps.

The ambient temp of the sensor body itself was extremely high. I don't recall the exact number, but I believe it was over 200.

Question. Is the IAT on the S2 an input for just fuel or fuel and timing?

Timing..is in there.

However, if the tables are programmed to expect the IAT above the crossover...then it'* a planned temperature.

after reading the thread, i have to agree with the placement of the IAT near the TB....the PCM wants the reading near the TB, moving it down near the filter may cause inaccurate readings that the PCM has not planned for. Personally with a 96-03 Series 2 FWI i would run the sensor up by the TB

I do see an answer... In a reasonable place to where it previously was located.

The reason I say it that way is the 95 L36 had the sensor in the airbox, IIRC. Meanwhile the 96+ had it in the accordian tube on the edge of the TB. Assumption that we are talking Bonne'* for the above data.
