Intense FWI ??

Greetings all. I am new to this site and I love it. What a wealth of info!!

I have a 2003 SSEi and I want to buy a FWI or CAI. I've read on this site that most prefer the FWI as it collects more cold air, hence more hp. I am torn between the CAI from Thrasher and the FWI from Intense. Leaning toward Intense, but my worry is that I have to remove the front wheel and wheelwell panel to install the filter portion of the kit which means I also have to repeat the process to clean the filter at the recommended intervals. That sounds like a big pain. Is that the case? Does the filter fit through the hole behind the headlight?

Thanks.

2003 SSEi
Stock (for now)

:D

I believe on the Y2K+ you can put the filter in place by crawling under the car and lifting it through the gap between the wheel-well panel and the front of the bumper.

Haven't seen underneath one, but that's my impression. :?

Just turn the steering wheel to the extreme left and remove the two lower popout retainers to install and service the Intense FWI.
Once a year cleaning is all you need. The lower valance protects the filter from diect road debris.

Is it worth the $$, or will a K&N airbox filter make the same diff?

No. Laminar flow is the key.
