Intake manifold options

I just wanted to start a topic on intake manifolds and what to do with them. I know that the Series II upper parts are plastic and melt and suck. Fixing this stock can require both the upper and lower parts depending on condition of the lower part, but will also lower the chances of needing another upper part. I've seen or heard tell of performance or modified performance versions of intake manifold parts (Hector, Ty...anyone?).

What would be a good way to go for replacing the plastic upper intake (not sure if it had failed or not) with something better and better performing, or would it be easiest (and expensive) to get it all replaced at the dealer, or maybe picking up a new plastic one and sticking it on myself for cheap. Other options are welcome as well.

Anywho, post away :roflmao: :diesmiley2: :feedback: .

Well I can tell you this though, GM's 2004 Series III 3800 has now got a "Metal" upper intake. The only problem is it will not work on older Series as the whole engine is now "Drive-By-Wire" too.

I can tell you on the Bonneville intensity site we covered this issue and I now offer a unit it is $2000.00 a unit and it comes with a few performance options. Ill dig up the link for ya. No there are no pictures just specks I have one of the best companies in the business making it for me so I can send a pic of another product made. My specks were based on the original plastic unit (I purchased a new plastic cover and sent it to them) and I requested that the unit was made to match the dimensions of the original unit to be sure all the other components worked and fit.

That's an easy question, since it will start off in the Pontiac Grand Prix (No more Bonneville)

Check out this manifold
http://www.intense-racing.com/GTP/GT...Schneider.html the main page is

Anyone have any ideas how to get one of these, and how much they would actually cost. (pure curiosity from lack of money)
I searched the wilson manifold web site and couldn't find anything.

What about an intake for the Series 1 N/A motor?

Thats a very nice looking manifold, Ty,I would like one for free please... :ack:

The Intense racing one is cool too, I'm guessing a one-off on that though.

Does anyone make a stock replacement style one for cheaper than 2 g's ? (hoping)
