Intake is done

Well i got the intake put on today, 3.5in painted red with K&N filter, it's really cold here today so sorry pics will come soon. But i can't believe how awsome it sounds, makes me want to drive with the windows open in -33 weather. You can hear an awsome whine from the supercharger now, the sounds for me is priceless.

I was thinking about this earlier today. I know the intake tube gets pretty warm from the exhaust and other stuff under the hood. Now, if you have a cold air box or cold air inlet, is it necessary to insulat the intake tude. Because if your getting cold air from a cold source than it's traveling very fast into the engine and will a hot intake tube even have enough time to heat the cool charge coming in? Just a thaught. :?

It wouldn't be a bad idea to insulate it, especially since you'll get huge benefits with your SC. But the air wouldn't heat up because of the tube being warmer, at any considerable level anyway. And if it's a heat resistant paint you have on it, that will help a bit.

ZZP sells a better crossover heat shield, but I'm not sure it will fit a Series 1. You can get an idea from it, though. Every little bit helps, but heat shielding around the filter should be your primary concern.

You will defintally hear a major tone in Whine from your Supercharger!
