Ice in the air filter?
 

Been thinking for a while about this: When you go to the track, take a bagie of crushed ice and place it inside your cone filter if its at least 10 inches away from your TB. If you have the means, you could also place this baggied ice outside of the filter if it were in some sort of holder that wouldn't get the electricals wet; but would still be next to the filter so it could draw cooler air into the intake fitler/pipe. :wink: Ideas and thoughts on this are welcome.

No no, your gonna suck water up that way.

Basic iceing for the intake manifold and TB are your best bet. :wink:

What about Dry Ice. It goes from solid to gas, no liquid. Plus it is a lot colder than ice.

Hummmmm sounds like more of the route I'd like to go. How would you go about keeping it cool till one got to a track. Use the ice chest and pack in regulare ice? :wink:

But dry ice is just solid C02, so you couldn't let any get into your intake. Cause of course C02 is a product of comubstion and therefore will only inhibit it.

Thats why I'm thinking about putting it in a baggie that would sit in a holder or attachment that sits on the outside of the cone filter. So the bag would contain the "cold stuff"and only cool the ambient air would go into the cone. I want to next find some dry ice and test it in the baggie to see how well the bag holds up to dry ice. If this works then I may invest in a Co2 chiller like DeathRat sells on his site. If this works it would be good to have down here in Texas. Possibly a mod for the ADTR intake :?: :wink:

If it works you could build your own or I could market them at a cheap price. Lets see how it works and then go from there. 8)

Yeah the baggie of ice will get condensation on it and it will be sucked in.....

A little bit of condensation shouldn't hurt anything. People do water injection and that is a lot more water than is going to be coming of the little baggies.

The best way to find out is to try it and we can all compare results.
It's warm enough around here now to try anything to cool down that charge. Even if only for a short while until it melts.
I think I'll try a few of those freezer packs that don't leak.
I agree with you, that the little bit of condensation shouldn't hurt.
