If you are going to start modding, you need a scanner that will read knock retard. A basic first step is a smaller diameter pulley on the supercharger, along with a cold air intake and headers. Then, you will need a tune to support the mods.
Read each of the sections in the performance section of the GM General Tech Info area of this forum. |
okay but what diameter am i at now and what should i go too and do i need to do anything special after the smaller diameter and where do i get a scanner like that and do you know any good tunning companys
|
You are at 3.8" and can safely go to 3.5". As I said, you will also want to install a cold air intake and headers to support the higher flow rates. There are guys on this forum who can tune for you.

Do some serious research here. Tune up and maintaince first the various will thank you.
fwi, 3in dp, 3.5 mps hiflo cat plog. That should be a good start |
Start by reading this guide. https://www.gmforum.com/performance-brainstorming-tuning-96/what-order-should-i-mod-my-engine-278662/
Where are you located? You can get some modding done, but will then need a tune. Speed daddy headers are a good low price option for headers. As stated, no smaller then a 3.5" pulley until your scanning for KR. A simple shift kit will also do wonders. |
i am located in st louis! and it is an automatic do i still get the shift kit??? and what are some good affordable cold air intakes???
|
th eonly headers on that site i could find were for a grand prix would this work for my 98 bonneville
