I know my bonneville has great low end torque.. but..

You guys are absolutely sure pulleys are only for supercharged?

True.... I agree with you there... Strange part though was after I had my heads done, and all of the valves and valve springs were back in spec, and I replaced the lifters with sealed power lifters, I seemed to have found a new world of power...But the lifters tick and I hate that... I will reinstall the factory lifters in the near future to see if the car is quieter and retains its power.... Not certain on that one... But that 3800 is strong enough for generall driving, and some showing out....
Absolutely. I was going to replace my hydraulic lifters in my Torino with solid lifters and a solid lifter cam, but didn't like the idea of having to always remove the valve cover to adjust the rocker arm pedestal height, thus doing away with the ticking. Too much of a headache. I just want to get in and drive. Remember that with solid lifters, you have to machine your heads to accept adjustable pedestals.

The change-out of a pulley we sc'd guys do is the supercharger pulley. If you don't have a supercharger, there is no pulley to change out. Thus what willwren asked, "What pulleys?"

I know exactly what you mean... Yeah those Solid lifters have to be adjusted frequently to keep the tollerances mainly valve lash correct, or undue wear and tear will result, like a concaved lifter, or a lobe worn clean off the cam...

I actually replaced the factory lifters wit a set of sealed power lifters which were meant for replacing the originals.... They are still hydraulic, but they have less float at the higher RPM'* thns did my stock set... Bad part is that I have been in the engine to replace 4 lifters already because they failed.... Here it is a year later and I hear 2 more lifters trying to call it quits... When they get warm they get worse... I hate the tick tick tick tick tick tick..... And when you can hear it in the car driving around town, well that just drives me nuts... I still have the stock set and they look as good as new due to the oil changes, and they never made much of anything for noise... I'll be reusing them...LOL
Yes, exactly. I didn't mean to make it sound as if you had solid lifters. I was also responding to Jim'* high-end statement. Usually to get more upper end, you have to go with a larger lobed cam (along with opening the intake/exhaust ports as well), and usually a good idea to go solid with a big cam with adjustable pedestals. But, then again, to retain low end torque, you'd have to have a blown intake as well.

Yeah, I'd toss those lifters too...
