rockers or cam
which way do i go george, which way do i go? (from that one cartoon)
current mods and expected mods within the next month. nothing installed sorta waiting for an all in one bang shot.. like next month hahahahaa no i wont do it to all the fla ppl
but heres my list. dhpv1.0,fwi,dp,ebenderaser.mps 3.4,(and hopefully areoforce guages). and my clear corners. but them dont count.
but future mods is P&P gen3 M90, pacesetters headers, custom 3' exhust complete.
but i know rockers are easier to install but a cam is more efective.
so??????????? any input?????????

Rockers for the ease of install....
But....they go really hand in hand with each other.....
I'd do both if it becomes a possibility.

i was reading the top 25 quickest bville page and alota them have stock cam. but prob run rockers...... IDK just giving it some though. cause i know i wanta go with headers but with the headers i know you lose some low end tourque so i figured a cam would help bring alota that back....... just Brainstorming i guess.

If you're serious about going really fast, do a cam. Yes, there is still a lot of improvement possible with the stock cam and 1.8s or 1.9s, but a cam will give better improvement throughout the entire powerband, even if it the profile puts emphasis on the upper RPMs. If you decide to do a cam, though, make sure you or your installer knows the proper procedures before beginning.

ok let make sure im correct on this.. this is what i think i know.
1st when you install headers due to the size of the primaries you will loes a lil bit of low end grunt.
2nd you cant run 1.8 or1.9 with a cam???
and a question. with rockers they improve upper rpm power correct?

2. Sure, you can have 1.8 or 1.9 rockers with a cam, but you have to be aware of your overall valve lift. Most aftermarket cams are aggressive enough that using high ratio rockers would exceed the maximum valve lift for the heads being used, so people generally do one or the other. As Pat mentioned before, you can simply choose a cam profile that accentuates power in the upper RPMs instead of doing a cam and rockers.
And yes, high ratio rockers have the greatest effect at high RPM.
