Default Gut Airbox

i want to gut my airbox, but i would like to keep mine stock........so i've been trying to find an airbox from a supercharged 96-99 H body around here, but nobody has one........but there are loads of airboxes from 96-99 H body n/a'*.....so since i would be gutting the back section of the airbox with the baffle, would it really matter if i got a n/a airbox ? because i'm going to cut out the center anyways

I moved this to Performance and Brainstorming for you.

Forced Induction is for Supercharging, Turbo, Nitrous, or other types of Forced Induction.

Wait for another person to double check but I believe the 96-99 boxes are all the same.

you can also gut it in a way to put it back to stock also. you don't destroy the airbox to gut it. you just remove an inside piece (that can be put back in)

I AM IN LOVE WITH WHINE

HOLY CRAP DOES GUTTING THE AIRBOX MAKE SUCH A DIFFERENCE

i cant imagine how much better a cai would be

i kept turning around on the highway to go from 0-60 just to hear that sweet whine

even with the ac delco filter the throttle response is phenomenal

now i'll wait a lil while for a k & n drop in

and i'll see if this helps my gas mileage now, but it probably won't because of my stupid foot and fondness of whine

I'm thinking that keeping the rear part in might help.

I don't think so.. Because then you are restricting the air filtration to only that 4 inches of space.

Get the K&N.. You'll notice more of a difference. Then.......Open up the space in your radiator support and use weatherstrip to seal it off from the engine bay. It'll put a big ole on your face.

BTW..fuel mileage is in your past. Forget the letters MPG... keep thinking WHINE and PULL.

Foot = Whine + Pull and in our equaution... Whine + Pull can not ever equal MPG

Welcome to the darkside.
