Exhast System Upgrades
I want to get a 3" exhaust from the Catalytic Converter back to the muffler and get a Flowmaster muffler, but every exhaust shop I call says if I get a 3" muffler it will drag the ground. If the car already has 2.5" exhasut why couldn't it handle a 3". The Flowmaster muffler the exhaust shops say that the muffler is only 18" long while the stock muffler on the Bonneville is about 24" to 28". Somebody tell me they are wrong because it is really p*&#ing me off. Thanks alot Send here: taylora AT visuallink DOT com.

3" is too large. The backpressure will be too insufficient, and you will lose power. 2.5" is all you want. Get a High Flow Catalytic Converter and an F-Body Muffler [Camaro or Firebird]. That'* all you need. And are you sure your exhaust diameter is 2.5"? Isn't the diameter of Naturally Aspirated Bonnevilles 2.5"? I could be wrong.. but it could be the fact mine is 2.25".

The diameter of certain SE'* is 2.25 and some have 2.5 The SLE, SSE and SSEI all have 2.5
your SSE will have 2.5
and you DO NOT want 3" you will loose serious torque. Even the fastest bonnevilles on this site run stock 2.5 piping
