Default Thinking of Using a Tactrix obd2 system

I'm not sure if this will work as it may seem. On the site it looks like the cable is mainly made for those using a subaru, though has the J-2534 pass-through interface. any input on this idea would be greatly appreciated.

I can't say for sure, but I don't believe that will work on the GM cars.

CURSES!!!!!! lol, I emailed that company that you linked in my other post, though, I haven't gotten a response as to if it is able to program an ecu as well as read. Will I be needing a separate program on my laptop to flash the pcm? (seemingly stupid question, I know) I just wish I could find a budget friendly way to play with my bonneville.

That other link to myscantool is a scanner only, I've used it, and it'* a nice low cost scanner. But not a programmer. To tune your Bonneville your looking at tiny tuner, I have not used that. Digital horsepower (DHP) I have not sued that one but Billboost does, and I believe they no longer make it, could be wrong on that though. And HPtuner, I use that. Higher price, but sometimes you can find a used copy. But well worth the price.

I will keep looking for something relatively cheap. I posted on the openecu forums asking if anyone there knew... though it seems like a ghost town of a forum. For now I will probably save some money and just pick up a shelf tune from zzp or whoever is best if there is a reccomendation. I will probably pick up the HP tuners suite this fall if I still don't feel satisfied with the mods that are on a shelf pcm. I really do prefer the old dive in and do it yourself approach. Too bad it'* not easier or cheaper to get into.

I can do a shelf tune for about the same price and do any custom work you need for no extra charge.

as far as the custom work would go, I'm looking for quite a bit of brain crunching from what I gathered when i talked to a guy from zzp. I was looking to make a manual over ride for the tranny through the pcm. This would be so say i put the shifter in first, it would down shift as per usual, though when i step on it and hit the rev limiter I dont want it to shift to second (panic shifting some people have called it). Through each gear this would be necessary. Also, I would want full control of when it would go into gears. Say i put it in 4th at 40 or less. I Dont care if it stalls I want it to go there. like a manual valve body in an ol' 700R4 or Th400 you know? I know for a fact that this can be done somehow through the electronics... though doing it is another practice im sure. I have a switch all wired in for Tcc lockup, which I beleive you helped with the advice, even though i dont use it for anything other than locking it up on a cruise (flat roads). I've managed 33mpg that way (65-70 from NY to PA, no stops) I am also looking for the Dual mode tranny line pressure setting that zzp has mentioned. I would like to just flip a switch for higher, though maybe not full, line pressure and when i feel like being a soft shifting granny drop the pressure to stock or slightly higher settings to give that smooth manual shift that i do now on lightly spirited drives. Sorry for the lengthyness, but I think i'm being specific enough to get a general idea If you could help me with any of this it would be FREAKING GODLIKE!!!
