Hi-Flo Resonator performance ??

Just wondering since we've basically disected that bang for the buck that Magnaflo is best in performance..

Do we have any website that has link to charts of flow of hi-flo cats? ( i.e. Magnaflow universal hi-flo vs. others? )

I'm sure a few people will recommend some killer ones that maybe an arm and a leg.. but lookin for bang for the buck style.

Next to my hollowed out Cat..

I have a Borla Exhaust with Stock CAT, and I am in the market for a Hi-Flo as well...

Random....or Ractive (cant remember) technologies have a really good HI flow Cat on the market. instead of creamic in the cat they use a metal mesh. Someone here has one on there SSEi and one of my friends has one on his integra

I found it here...

but I am not sure what size since the GTP calls for 2 different sizes....2 1/2 or 3"

I have an 01' SSEi with TOG Headers, Stock Cat, and Borla Exhuast .

I have a 24" Magnaflow resonator......zero restriction and performance loss. Just about any length in a 2.5" (or 3" with reducers) that will fit behind the cat before the first intermediate pipe turn will work.

My 24" really taxed the limits. Had to cut the flanges to make it fit. 12-18" should be fine.

Flanges cut:

Gaping hole........no restriction here.

I'm lucky. I had this done in Corvallis at Jerry's Precision Muffler. Jerry is an AWESOME guy, gave us his time for our WCBF Tech Day, and gave me a great price break. We actually had 3 cars on the lift that day, and he even fixed driverjohn's exhaust leak while he was at it.

You would only want a resonator if you had a problem with the sound level correct ?

willwren 09-17-2004 04:42 PM

You already have a resonator. 92 and 93 didn't come with one.

Trust me on this, you'll regret removing it. Your exhaust note will be raspy and poppy after quick revs.

blackssei 09-17-2004 06:03 PM

so I should remove it, with a Magnoflow then ?

willwren 09-17-2004 07:38 PM

No, stick with the stock resonator. As far as I know, it's free-flowing.

Anyone on the board use Random ? ...I want to order the Hi-Flow....but I need to know if I need the 3 inch or the 2 1/2 inch. Not sure what my car uses...Anyone know ?
