I took my car to the shop my friend works at to try and pin down my problem.
Well he scanned it and i've got a bunch of increasing KR as the rpm'* pass 2k.
There as a missfire code and i think that'* it.
He checked my coils and i have new plugs and wires so that takes care of that.
He had no idea what to do.
But the owner came out and basically told me what i had been assuming all along. I have to compensate for the amount of air i'm bringing in with more fuel. I mentioned the mini afc and he told me i should definatley get that. I also mentioned the L67 injectors and he said that'* probably a good idea too.

So I sent a money order out for some low mileage L67 injectors. (they do fit the rail)
And I ordered the mini afc 2.0.
If all goes according to plan, my car should be screaming by next week.

I think that the reason why everything didn't go as smooth as it should is because i'm sh*tty OBDI and the cam was designed and tested on an OBD2 platform. I'm thinking that computer can adjust to the bigger lobes better. :?:

Oh and i did get my electric waterpump yesterday and i have to say that will be the most shiny part of my car. bling
the electric looks pretty simple, ignition, power, ground. The mounting should be simple as hell. But i still have to get a belt that fits perfect. The one i have is pretty close so i'll try the next size bigger. That belt is a PITA. I'll definatley post the final size to save some people the headache.
As for the measurements, i'll trace the new gasket and lable it w/ measurements, then scan it and post it.

Oh and on a completely unrelated note, I did some more body work on my car this past weekend.
The passenger side is almost perfect the handles, antenna hole, fender bodywork is flawless, along with the entire back bumper. The bumper where the reflectors were started to crack but i'm pretty confident it won't anymore. Then the whole passenger side and back bumper was sprayed with 2K primer. That stuff is the real deal. It is THICK filler primer with hardener. When i sand that down right, it'* gonna be flawless. Free body work takes looong. But it'* all good.

You may want to get a custom PCM setup for your car.

www.gmtuners.com can help you out, but being able to scan your car, and dynoing it will go a long way to optimizing the performance.

Why do you think the car is running lean? If your O2 sees it it should adjust.

I've spoke with gm tuners over the last few weeks about a chip and i'm still planning on getting one.

And the O2 can only adjust so much because of how the computer was designed.
Dr Jay is running lean too.

I'm going to adjust the air/fuel using a scan tool as a guide. And i like the fact that i can adjust it at any moment.

The water pump is in!
That was just annoying as hell.
The belt that fits is a 910K6
I didn't take any pics during the install because i was in a mad rush. But i'll take a pic of it installed today/tomorrow.
The install wasn't that bad. I think it took 2 1/2 hours all together and i've never changed a WP before.
If anyone is interested, i could probably do a write up to make it real easy.

I forgot the most important part.
The results.
My temps didn't reach 200F for 20 miles city and 20 miles highway. and it was 80F out.
The but dyno feels like i picked up some ponies.
And the voltage drop is almost nothing.

His problem is because of a failing fuel system, and he has a MUCH bigger fuel need then you. If you think you still have a problem, maybe you need a wideband o2.

I would have to agree with Dr Jay needing MUCH more fuel then me. But it'* not impossible that i'm starving for fuel as well. I know i still have a problem, i feel it everyday to and from work.

The wideband o2 system is interesting but it'* pretty expensive. I'm going to see how far i can get with the mini afc and L67 injectors before i really consider the wide band o2.
