Default Exhaust Options.

okay, i have done alot of reading on the pros and cons of upgrading my exhaust system from 2.5 to 3.0" tubing.
My new SLP headers have a 3"DP, with currently goes into a 3" piece of pipe which is right were my CAT used to be. The car, when i drove it last weekend pulls HARD shes got alot of power, however I feel i could benifit on the top end a bit more.

I am going to a 3.0" pulley, 42.5lbs injectors, more PCM mods by Intense, and a high flow pump.

current mods ofcourse are: 3.2, FWI, PCM, 1.9 rockers, 105 springs and now the headers.

The stock 96-99 system flows pretty good but I would think you are approaching the point where you will start to see gains from 3" exhaust.

Glad you got Headers....

I don't think you will be able to run a 3.0 pulley on your setup without a IC though.

You have no KR and full timing with your setup? (I am pretty sure the answer is yes just making sure)

Schad..Im not sure what to do anymore lol. I look at them every day...?
As far as running an intercooler..ill have to see....Currently its doing well with the 3.2 on, full timing, no KR. two heat range colder plugs, winter gas with fuel stabilizer..the gas is about 3 months old now.

Anything is possible

Personally I think heads or a Gen V would be a better investment before an IC.

I would say go with 3". That should give you enough flow to drop to a 3.0 without stacking up kr. Then start worrying about an IC later.
And if the 3.0 doesn't work, you can stay with the 3.2 for now until you get it together. I don't think it would be a big deal.
Infact I am considering 4" exhaust on my Regal from the CAT back.

I think im going to wait and see what goes down once its running again. Ive gotten alot of mixed opinions, it seems like it might be okay for now.

I wonder how 4" would sound. Probably pretty good.

I just got some mufflers for cueball the other day, some cheap flowtech raptors, time to quiet it down a little bit. I say go for the 3".
