Heat Sheild

I installed a CAI last night and the cone is touching the water hose. Is there anything I can wrap around that hose to keep the heat from touching the cone? Are there any heat sheilds I can buy or would I have to make my own?

So you just installed a open air intake last night, not a CAI, right? I used to have some metallic insulation wrap touching the hose and it never burnt up or anything. Heat shield, you will have to make your own most liikely

Its a strait pipe that leads to a cone filter, I thought those were CAIs. What makes a CAI different from a opean air intake?

CAI are sealed, so you only get Cold air.

Touching the water hose? Sounds a lil off on it's routing....

Maybe I should lift it up a little higher?

Is it touching the main hose between the thermostat housing and the radiator? i've got a good 4-6" between the filter and hose, and that's the closest point from hose to CAI pipe.

Mine is the same way. Sure sounds nice though.

If you only got a Series 1, its an easy fit. Just work it around, and cut if you have to. Remember to cut short though
