DHP Powertuner
I searched, but I couldn't find any reviews or anything like that. Has anyone here used it? Good results?

I myself have not had any personal experience. But I have heard of some around BC talking about the shifts being much to aggressive with a DHP.

DHP is not known for being quick in delivering and supporting the PowrTuner. It took me two months from payment to arrival--and I ordered direct from DHP. If you go through a vendor, it can take longer. Turns out they don't really have a "stockpile" of tuners, but rather wait for "x" number of orders then have them made up.
Furthermore, although PowrTuner claims to have "all 97-05 GM v6 support", it took nearly another month to get my '98 LeSabre supported, and three months after delivery to get my 2004 LeSabre supported. In short, if you don't own a Grand Prix GTP, you ain't likely to be supported "out of the box," and will have to wait--sometimes for months--for a software patch.
Why so much waiting? Turns out DHP is three people, two of whose only function is to say, "I dunno, you'll have to wait for the third guy." The third guy knows his stuff, but runs DHP only as a sideline, so usually takes a week to a month to reply to any inquiry. This can be very frustrating when you're just starting out.
It also turns out that I should consider my experiences to be extremely good customer service, based on typical experience from DHP customers under similar circumstances. :?
As to the item itself: a tuner is a tuner. Once you learn it, you can do what you want with it...Do you want performance? economy? towing? Tune for it.
Yeah, PowrTuner vs. HPTuners have different software interfaces, different tables they access in the PCM, different scannable parameters, etc. The fanboys for each like to rag on the other over these issues. In truth, it comes down to this: do you tune GM v6 exclusively? Get PowrTuner, because the support forum/community for it is focused on this sector. Do you want to tune GM v8'* also (or exclusively)? Get HPTuners, because it can do that, and from what I understand is more focused on that sector. PowrTuner'* support forum will help you greatly when you're just getting started. I'm told that they know and share much more on the PowrTuner forum than on the HPTuners forum. I cannot comment on that, as I haven't seen the HPTuners forum.
If you're modding, I can't imagine not using a tuner. If you're modding heavily, you'll be best to get a wideband O2 sensor also, and the PowrTuner supports that. Even if you're mostly stock, a Tuner can make your car run its very best. It'* a scanner and datalogger too, so this functionality kinda offsets its price.
I guess the real question is, what do you want to do with a tuner?

Thanks for the write-up, that'* exactly what I'm looking for. To answer your question, I'll be looking for a mix of Performance and Economy, rather, performance, but with 87 octane (if it'* possible lol). I was thinking about getting this before I start modding so I can scan for KR before any mods, and also tune as I go. I think that'* what I'll do

Keep in touch once you get going on this; the PowrTuner forum is focused heavily on */C applications...the few N/A guys who've made the investment are largely left to feast on crumbs, but I've figured out a few things
