Default Case learn

I have had my intense PCM for a couple years. I haven't had a CASE learn done on it.

My wife'* uncle is a mechanic at one of the larger GM dealerships in our area. I asked him about it and he said if you have one or the other done (PCM or crankshaft), it is not needed. Only if you have both. It seems everyone here believes in it pretty strongly.
How much of a difference will I notice by having it done. I read in another post that you won't get the full benefit of the timimg without it.

I want my car to run it'* best, and I'm not arguing either side. I just really ain't sure about it. Also I called about having it done when I got the PCM, and the cheapest I could get it done was like 60 or 65 bucks.

Anyhow some info would be appreciated,

Thanks ,
Tim

According to the experts here (including INTENSE), any time EITHER the crank sensor OR the PCM is changed from original, it should be done. A dealership does what their mechanics are trained to do.

Most average Bonneville owners could care less about 2-5hp lacking. Most of us here DO care.

Both very valid points. I will check into getting it done.

Thanks,
