H Body/W Body Parts Interchangeability

I posted the previous question in regards to a 3800 swap, but I was wondering, how similar are the H Body and the W body platforms from the firewall forward? Are the engine cradles and front suspensions the same? What about the rear suspensions? Just wondering what I could take out of my wrecked 96 Olds LSS to put into a W body.
Thanks,
Jim

Nothing...well the Block and the Trans Internals

the Engine has different locations for the accessories, and the engine mounts. the Trans also may have a different mount depending on the year.

The Suspensions are completley different also

That's what I was afraid of - hard to believe that the trans won't interchange between the two platforms.

Thanks,
Jim

Pretty sure a W-body trans will work in a H-body but not the other way around. The W-body has a structural side pan that it uses with a mount, the H-body uses the mount bosses in the front and rear of the trans.

actually the difference is in the webbing on the back of the trans for the mount. Some of the w's have it and some dont
