Default gxp venom nitrous questions

Hi there, I am interested in putting nitrous in my 04 bonne gxp with 78k miles. I saw your posts from years ago on the zex system and I was wondering how you have made out with it over the years. would you recommend installing a 75 shot? I am not looking to go crazy and I am well aware how rare these cars are, meaning nobody makes crap for it.

Well hopefully he will see this. Does anyone else have any experience with nitrous on these gxps?

Want to know how these cars hold up on a 75-100 shot.

i would be more worried about the control arms and trans, they go on the normal ones let alone a 8 cylinder with nitrous. cant speak for him obviously but he had replaced all the suspension with aftermarket stuff. i dont remember the trans though, i have heard people talking about the lack of tuning so it probably was not tuned trans wise.

Well ive had this car since it had 25k miles on it. Its been maintaned. But im also trying to make this car fun since its not my daily driver. I really dont want to do any suspension work minus bushings because idk how those are at this time. This is a spring project. Anyways if I wanted to do alot of work id get something different that has alot more hp to start with.

the problem with the engine is the lack of tuning IMO. if you get something with a l67 like a grandprix or bonnie ssei, it has less to start with but infinite potential with the SC and tuning availability

I know. I know all about this car I used to be on this site years ago. I dont care about tuning because nothings avail. I want cheap thrills, without buying a new car. Always hated nitrous. But for this car and someone who doesnt want to invest in cars untill I buy a house.. nitrous or nothing seems the way to go.

well you could try a small wet kit and make sure you are able to monitor trans slip values, if it was only very seldom used

I did some digging, and it looks like his kit varied from 75-125 based on throttle input. Even figuring stock HP, you would be firing 325HP at the front wheels with a 50 shot.

I did a quick search, and it sounds like GXP Venom'* car is still pulling strong, but it also sounds like he hasn't sprayed a lot, nor put on many miles.

For the tranny, you are sitting on a 4T80, which is notorious for taking a lot of power to drive, but I have not really heard of any failures either. You start modding a L67 behind a 4T65, and lifespan shortens. Go big, and it shatters. Sounds like the big weakpoint with the Northstar is the engine. Service life is typically 200k miles, with 120k usually being guaranteed worry free, but you start spraying, you will take away from that.
