Them claiming they can put 7.2HP to the wheels is ludacris... I could wave a magic wand and give you 30hp.

The Weapon is the biggest joke in the REAL performance world. It'* a ricer-commodity. They buy for the name and the looks.

That thing is a hilarious joke and has been discussed here before. Do a search on 'weapon'. You'll find a few topics.

think i could use that magic stick? i do have a question on how the computer will adapt to the change in air flow, one guy told me that if i did install an air intake that if i unplugged the battery and rebooted that the computer has a 10% leway, this true or am i gonna need to do some computer work to?

I would almost bet money that you will not see anywhere near a 7 horsepower gain at the wheels with that.

the main problem is that the filter is going to suck air directly from behind the radiator, inside the engine compartment.

you want cold or cool air, not hot air.

now, while I have a series 1 engine, I can tell you that I had an intake that sucked in air from behind the radiator, and it killed my gas mileage, and I am pretty sure I actually LOST power when the engine was hot. here is my post about my findings.... while not exactly a "scientific" approach, you get the idea

go with the FWI everyone talks about. there is a reason that everyone here either runs one, or wants one

There is nothing you can do to your INTAKE that will upset the computer or require unplugging or reprogramming whatsover. Unless you suck hot air or restrict it too much. Perhaps you should ask US what (in our experience of 8000 members and over 5 years here) intake designs are best suited for you.

Your friend would be better served to stick to topics he actually KNOWS about. Preferably from personal experience and not something he heard in the parking lot at Autozone.

Our PCM'* will adjust to a multitude of items within reason. Changing an intake will be seen by the PCM as increased airflow and it will adjust fueling as needed.

Until you get hip deep in mods, there would be very few reasons to try and change or reprogram the PCM. Being a 96 though will limit you as to your pcm programming choices. I believe currently that DHP is the only known source for tuning software on 1996.

don't worry about the questions at all. the only way to find out is to ask, just remember that you are at the right place for any questions on your car.
