No. The intake will flow too quickly for the heat transfer to have any effect. And using the AC robs horsepower. Self-defeating.

unless you wanetd to re-postion your evaporator core, it might be rather difficult to run the intake through the heater box aswell

I think what he meant was re-route some air from the A/C to the intake, not the inake to the A/C

Like Will said, for the small difference itd make, it would probably be self defeating.

But worh a shot if ya wanna

There is such a thing as an AC intercooler, but for before the TB it does not make since. Too cold of air is a bad thing.

thus plumming ducting from the heaterbox to the intake

If you take the time to do all the calculations, you will find that it takes much more horsepower to run that A/C compressor than you would get in return. I recall seeing a rather lengthy discussion about this on the Ranger forum and someone spent the time to do all the calculations and posted. Net loss in wheel HP.

Truthfully, though, noone there bothered to go through the trouble of trying it and doing before/after dynos. I'm sure we could all learn something if you want to do the work...

you could do a dry ice intake. it would have to be quite small, but its doable.

Dry ice doesn't last too long, and consumes oxygen if I remember right, so you'd prolly still slow yourself down.

What about nitrous? You could have it wrap around the tube. I know that nitrous often has a cooling effect. That would be the most expensive CAI ever.
