Transmission
This may be a stupid question, but how much do you think it would coust to make a transmission swap and put in a manual transmission?

The possiblity of swapping in a manul tranny has ben looked at before. What we found is that there is no direct replacement manual tranny for the 3800 series engine that we could find. The only possibility is there may be a way to use a fiero manual to do it. They put our engines in their cars all the time. I'm not sure how well their tranny'* would hold up to the weight of the Bonneville though.

There are other options, but all are incredibly expensive. It'* really not worth it. I'm a wiz at fabrication, and even I backed off when I saw what was ahead of me. You could own 2 Bonnevilles for the price of the swap/fab.

Any Getrag 5 speed from a FWD GM would bolt on to our engine, the problem is the PCM, the half shafts, the mounts, the pedal assembly, and the console retro fit. By the time you fab all the necessary parts, it will cost $$$. Now, if you have the ability to mass produce these parts, It would be to your advantage to make and sell a kit for the rest of us.
