FWI install in a 96-99 Bonneville

In order for the FWI to work on a 98 SSEi the evap canister must be removed or relocated. If you remove the evap canister from its original location then the 9 inch cone will insert into the hole vacated by the canister and seal snugly. You may have to trim the air hose a bit to get the proper length. Please keep in mind that if the evap canister is completely removed your car will throw an evap code and you will probably fail emissions testing (if needed in your area). The evap canister is easy to remove and reinstall though so you can reinstall it before emissions testing. If you have an aftermarket PCM you can have the evap DTC codes programmed out of the PCM so the SES light will not trip.

Here are a few pictures from the install we did in SSsuperchargedEi's Bonnie.

that pic shows up huge on my end man! EDIT: FIXED

is there anywhere down there where the cannister could be relocated?

The PCM also has to be relocated. Is the one in SSsuperchargedEi's Bonnie in a relocation tray, ziptied, or just laying down?

Also, there are hard plastic as well as rubber vacuum lines to the canister, are they just tucked off to the side, or were they removed, too?

Quite clean install. . . . I think FWI is the way to go on a Bonne esp. on '92-'99 untill a good CAI comes out. . . .

Maybe Ryan will post some more pics of the lower portion. Those 2 are the only ones I have.

Did you relocate the IAT to the filter? Does the motor run any different with no evap canister if you have your PCM burned w/o it?
