Default Getting rid of weight at the wheels

Im looking for a set of 4 more wheels for this winter and performance wise also; and probably looking at used Bonne/GP/GA wheels that are 16". Are the gold/silver web design wheels the lightest available? I used to have steel wheels with only hubcaps before I got my 17'*, and they were pretty light compared to the new wheels.

steel ones with hubcaps will be the lightest you can find. Put some fake spinners on them and you are set.

spares will give you a higher gear ratio and be quicker... Till they pop.

Don't try performance turning though. :?

On the topic of lighter rotating mass...I wish I paid more attention but I was reading some magazine and they were talking about Pontiac making aluminum brake drums for a short span, '87-88 rings a bell...Anyway they were something around 8lb lighter on the outside which is of the most benefit. I forget which car though! But I remember reading it and thinking "That might work on ours" so something made me think that haha...ahh I'll tear my collection apart later and see if I can find it.
