Intercooler?
Has anyone ever seen an intercooler installed on a bonneville? From the opening under the grill, its as if pontiac had one in mind.

its really hard to intercool ambient air with abient air. unlike a turbo charger, the air from the supercharger goes directly into the cylinders. i would have to say that the best way to cool the air is to talk to Will about the water injection. it cools the incoming air with a super fine mist of water or alcohol / water mixture.

I think he is talking about an air to air intercooler like your see for turboed or centrigal supercharged applications. You dont use an air to air on a Bonneville because it is a roots blower. You use a water to air intercooler that sit underneath the supercharger. ZZPerformance makes one and so does Thrasher. The ZZP one is cheaper and probably better made.
I dont believe water injection is the answer. Using a real intercooler would be better and make tons more power. You can inject only so much water or else you will hydrolock the engine.

Water injection can be scary. The system I built has far more failsafes in it than a commercial system. I'm taking no chances with my car. The trick is that you don't want water delivered unless you're driving, and preferable only when driving like a lunatic. This system was a PITA to build, but I did it for 10% of the cost of a good commercial system. They can run 800 bucks or so.
Mine is set up to deliver water only if I'm in gear and the engine is running. I may rework it later to be under load. Come on at 2k rpms or so. Not really sure. I'm waiting to see how it performs this spring. I haven't run an alcohol mix yet, either.

i have been thinking alot about the water injection. here is what i have come up with so far, Will , please tell me what you think ok.
o ordered a waternozzle from aquamist that is tri swirl cut and is 0.7mm in dia with a 4mm barbed nipple and a 8x0.75mm threaded insert. (21 bux with shipping)
an adjustable pressure switch. (when boost hits a certain lbs, it connects an electrial switch)
im going to use the washer res. and pump for the headlight washers and fuse it and use the ground through the pressure switch and set it at like 4psi. and use washer solvent because its aprox 50% alcohol which disipates heat more quickly and the washer pump is already designed for it.
so the way this will work is, when you are just cruising, you will have no mist into the engine, but as soon as it hits like 4psi boost, the switch turns on the pump and instant mist. when you have less than 4 psi, it will turn off automatically.
aquamist makes several sizes of nozzles and are made just for water injection systems for engines, they go from 0.4mm to 1.0mm
the nozzles are designed to creat a finer atomization of the the water and is installed aprox 2"-4" from the TB

You're on the right track....HOWEVER.....you need to put double redundancy in your system, in case one part fails. You can't take the chance of switch contacts sticking or anything else like that, or BOOM.
